Ensuring safe operation of Nova Scotia transportation infrastructure through targeted Structural Health Monitoring and assessment.

SHM Canada carried out a preliminary assessment of the canal walls in 2017 and in 2018 was hired by Public Services and Procurement Canada (PSPC) to carry out a wall study comprising Structural Health Monitoring, surveying, visual inspection, and geotechnical investigation. Based on this study, SHM Canada recommended both short-term and long-term solutions to ensure the continued safe and dependable operation of the facility.

Long term monitoring is currently underway.
