MacKeen’s Bridge

SHM Canada has been engaged by Nova Scotia Transportation and Infrastructure Renewal (NSTIR) to design a replacement bridge over MacKeen’s Brook at Trunk 7 in Guysborough County, NS.

\em of Whitman’s Wharf was causing significant agitation within the inner basin, affecting the fishing boats tied therein during storms. In 2018, SHM Canada was engaged by DFO-SCH to review existing information, explore available mitigation options, and prepare design drawings and specifications. The work included a diving inspection of the existing close-face piling installed on the recently completed Whitman’s Wharf Extension to determine its effectiveness. Preparation of a tender package, which incorporates appropriate mitigation measures for the stem, is currently underway.
